Cary and Josiah Rich operated a family day care home in Santa Rosa, CA
from October 15, 1990 - October 8, 2017.
After their community was devastated by the October 2017 wild fires in Sonoma County; with the loss of their home and business, they revised their business model and opened Santa Rosa Rise and Shine Child Care Center.
Cary earned her degree from Santa Rosa Junior College in Early Childhood Education and her Supervisor's Permit from the State of California. She continues her education regularly to stay abreast of all of the changes in her field.
Josiah has his Masters Degree from International Seminary, he has served on Sonoma County's Board of Mental Health and is continuing his education in the area of Early Childhood Education.
They are participants in the 'Quality Counts', CARES and PITC programs where they will continue their professional development with the hopes of their center becoming a training and observation site.
Together, they have raised six children; five daughters and one son. They have nine grandchildren and a multitude of other 'children' thought Sonoma County that have touched their hearts and still remain in contact with many of the families to this day!
Cary and Josiah would love to open their arms and hearts to include your family as an added extension of theirs!

Ian is a very active member of our community.
He is home schooled and the youngest of six siblings. He has nine nieces and nephews. He has worked with young children as a youth leader in his martial arts training and as a Junior Lifeguard at a local swim center.
Ian will be earning volunteer community hours working in our setting serving meals, assisting in the cleaning and maintenance of our environment and facilitating activities for the older children throughout the day.
He will add great value interacting as a 'big brother' with our toddlers.
For more information about Ian you can visit his website.
We'd like to introduce 'Bear'!
Bear is our pup 'mascot'. She is our one year old, very friendly, Labrador Retriever that has a mellow disposition (somewhat uncommon for a Labrador).
She will not be interacting with the children but she will be an ever-present-observer!
She will welcome petting and may return the favor with puppy kisses! Consider yourself warned! Puppy drool may be in your future!!
